Heard a rumor from an old friend that the old cook of Orient's buko pie is the one cooking for Lety's that's why their buko pie if not as good, might be better than The Orient. Price is the same but without the long lines. And their pies are also freshly baked from the oven. The Orient somehow always try to make their customers wait so long queues will be noticed and will make some kind of commotion to promote that people are willong to wait to buy their buko pies.

Got here only bec the original was sold out, but hey, theirs was equally original in taste! So glad to learn of this as I now wouldn't ever have to pila on the other side anymore.

It was 7:00am and we originally intended to buy Buko pie from the store beside it (D' Original). The said store (D'Original) was already open however, they do not just let buyers go in. They let people wait outside while their crews were busy doing some paperworks. Got bored of the long queue, (since we're heading back to Manila) I decided to look for another store to buy our pasalubong from. Then I saw this store and decided to buy. When I got home, the Buko pie has received good feedback from my family! the dough was crunchy from the outside and very flavorful. The buko meat was soft and tender. Adequately sweet and salty! From now on, instead of wasting time queueing from a known store, it is not always a bad idea to get your pasalubong from a less-known brand. Turned out, that was a great decision I made.

Letty's Buko pie is still the best. It may not be as popular as it's neighbor the Original Buko pie, but, as they say, when you're from Los Banos, you pick Letty's vas your buko pie. Their frozen buko pie travels well, it doesn't get soggy as I am warned. Just pop it in the microwave and it's good to go. 200 php for the regular buko pie, 275 for the frozen.

Drove all the way from San Pedro, Laguna to break-in our new Suzuki MPV and intending to buy a box of my favorite, "world-acclaimed" buko pie in Los Banos. But since it was getting late, my wife and I decided to go for the "other" buko pie located nearby. And I wasn't sorry I did because I discovered how delicious it was. Kudos to Lety's Buko Pie! It's bound to be a world-renowned delicacy, too, and this time from Calamba.
